Deadline to apply for National Honor Society is Friday, September 25th. All applications should be turned in to Miss Wauford in the counseling office. Contact her with any questions you may have.
To be eligible to apply, students must meet the following initial criteria:
- GPA & Volunteer Hours: Minimum 3.5 GPA and 35 documented volunteer hours (with at least 21 of those hours—60%—being community-impact volunteer hours). Come see me if you have any questions about your volunteer hours!
Applicants must show documentation across all four Foundations of Mustang Nation:
- Just Be Here (Get Involved): List participation in all MVHS extracurricular/co-curricular activities and clubs.
- Excellence in the Arena: List all awards, recognitions, honors, and leadership experiences while at MVHS.
- Service Above Self: List all volunteer and community service experiences, focusing on broader community-impact opportunities.
- Champions in Life: Submit a minimum 500-word essay describing how your activities and volunteerism have shaped your character, along with other personal characteristics for the selection committee to consider. You can add your essay to the end of the application.
