Principal Steve Brand

Steve Brand has been principal at Mount Vernon High School since the fall of 2010. He received his undergraduate degree from Central College in Pella, Iowa and his Masters in Educational Leadership from Iowa State University. Mr. Brand began his career in education as a 3rd grade teacher in Guthrie Center in the fall of 1996. In his over 25 year educational career, he has taught every grade between 3rd and 9th as well as coached multiple athletic teams. Mr. Brand has had three of his kids graduate from Mount Vernon High School, has one daughter currently attending Mount Vernon High School, and his wife, Robin, is a 1st grade teacher at Washington Elementary.
